Pay and Display - 2017

After Michael Dunwell's exhibition, Ruth Piper from Centrespace approached me to ask if I would like to sit in on the gallery's annual open show.

I was delighted to be asked, and felt really supported through the whole process. Their annual "Pay and Display" show has been running since 2016.

Daphne Wright & Beatrice Haines their 2015 artist in residence were on the panel helping to choose the winner of the Pay and Display prize.

Contemporary artists were invited to apply to exhibit in the gallery for two weeks. Entry was free but each selected artist was asked to pay a hanging fee of £20 when they delivered their work to the gallery.

Was ecstatic to have been asked to show at Prime Cafe in Plymouth - at the time an absolute hub for community.

I played with themes of "Green " spaces 9as often is used in my work), riffing of the plants already installed in the space.

The "Postcard" grid was to show how I usually jump off from the photo's I take in order to abstract and find shape, but worked as a stand alone piece.
